Certified Yoga Instructor – Lotus Gardens Yoga School 200 hour program. Larry has been teaching in area studios for a couple of years.
He first discovered yoga while searching for relief from chronic low-back discomfort. With relief from pain, his practice continues to be inspired by the mind-body-spirit connection.
The teaching of his own style “Mindful Yoga” includes an eclectic variety of yoga disciplines. Experiences will typically include: meditation on breath awareness, traditional Hatha Asana practice mixed with moderately paced Vinyasa sequences, hands-on adjustments to promote optimum alignment as well as releasing muscle tension, Yin style postures to create balance and space, and peaceful, musical relaxation.
Lawrence believes the most important things to bring to the mat are an open mind and sincere intention. Aside from practicing yoga, Lawrence has a deep passion for music, has studied the guitar and occasionally experiments with sound healing theory.
While growing up on a farm here in Kent, I learned from an early age, along with my siblings, the physical and emotional benefits of hard work, laborious outdoor work splitting and stacking wood, feeding animals, throwing and stacking copious amounts of hay.
In my early 20’s I moved to California, the perfect place for and athletic lover of the great outdoors! I also met and married my husband and had two wildly active boys while living in in the Golden State. When I was 35 my husband passed away, overwhelmed I moved myself and the boys back to be closer to my family.
During this time my weight and health fluctuated drastically. I stopped taking care of myself both physically and emotionally and I rode this roller-coaster for nearly 7 years.
After another devastating event in my life, I looked at my boys and realized I could no longer continue in this downward spiral. I started slowly by walking every day, and when possible, while running errands, I walked from store to store rather than drive. I began riding my bike to work and using the gym at my place of work.
One day a coworker was talking about this new fitness center in Kent and suggested we try it. She told me it was TRX- what the heck was that? After that first Saturday morning, I was hooked! I went back week after week. Through this process my life has changed tenfold. I feel better in both body and mind. My boys are both thrilled and proud of the positive changes I have made.
I loved FIT CAMP TRX so much I wanted to be able to teach it myself, so once again I stepped out of my comfort zone and took an instructors course. I love teaching FIT CAMP TRX and truly enjoy meeting new people and helping them realize that they too and transform their bodies and minds through exercise!

I am an inherent believer in discovering one’s gifts and giving them away. My goal is to pay forward the gifts that yoga has brought me. Discovering yoga was the culmination of many roads I’ve taken as part of a transformational process I have been going through on my life’s path. It is that which I know will continue to sustain my journey.
I cannot imagine life without it. I have a new found consciousness and awareness of my life and practicing yoga has been a vital part in fortifying this.
I’ve been active my entire life, feeling my oats these days when cycling, swimming or playing tennis. However no experience leaves me as grounded, letting go of fear and attachment and accepting of finding my true Self, as my daily asana.
I have been fortunate to be trained at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, California under the instruction of Ganga White, Tracey Rich, Sven Holcomb and Kent Bond. Yoga is an essential tool that can help all of us deal with any challenges we are faced with, turning our attention inward focusing on the peace within ourselves.
By incorporating the powerful connection of mind, body, and breath through flow and restoration, classes are designed for everyone to reach their fullest potential, tapping into individual strength and flexibility. Come see why yoga is for everbody.
